Gwen G. Fisher, Ph.D. | Industrial-Organizational Psychology

Gwen Fisher earned a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Spanish at Penn State University. She completed her M.A. and Ph.D. in industrial/organizational (I/O) psychology at Bowling Green State University. During graduate school Gwen was a Research Consultant at IBM in Armonk, NY. From 2001 – 2013, she worked at the Survey Research Center of the University of Michigan Institute for Social Research in Ann Arbor, Michigan and taught in the M.A. program in I/O psychology at the University of Detroit Mercy. In 2013 she moved west to Colorado State University (CSU), where she is currently a tenured Associate Professor of Psychology and Adjunct Associate Professor in the Colorado School of Public Health. Since 2014 Gwen has directed the CSU Occupational Health Psychology training program, funded by the NIOSH Mountain and Plains Education and Research Center. 

In terms of her research, Gwen is keenly interested in quality of work life issues. Her research program spans interdisciplinary boundaries to investigate individual and work factors related to worker health, well-being and organizational outcomes. To date she has published 54 peer-reviewed articles and 16 book chapters. In 2015 she and her coauthors received the award for “Best Paper in the Journal of Occupational Health Psychology in 2013-2014” for their paper on mental job demands and cognitive functioning. Her research has been funded by NIH-NIA, NIOSH, and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. She serves on the editorial boards of Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Occupational Health PsychologyWork, Aging, & Retirement, Occupational Health Science, Journal of Business and Psychology. Additionally, she directs the pilot projects program and serves on the internal steering committee of the Center for Health, Work, and Environment, a NIOSH Center of Excellent in Total Worker Health.  

In 2020, Gwen became President-Elect of the Society for Occupational Health Psychology and was elected as a Fellow in the Society for Industrial-Organizational Psychology.

Lorann Stallones, MPH, Ph.D | Applied Social and Health Psychology

Lorann Stallones, MPH, PhD, a Fellow American College of Epidemiology, is a Professor in the Department of Psychology, at Colorado State University, and the Director of the Colorado Injury Control Research Center. She received a BA from the University of California, Santa Barbara in Cultural Anthropology, an MPH and a PhD from the University of Texas, School of Public Health, Houston, Texas.  She was the founding Director of the Colorado School of Public Health at CSU, a partner in the interinstitutional school of public health and served in that position from 2008-2019.  Dr. Stallones is nationally and internationally recognized as an occupational epidemiologist who has worked extensively in agricultural safety and health, studying youth working on farms, migrant farm workers, and farm owner/operators and their spouses. In 2005, an article she published was selected by the Editor of the Journal of Agromedicine as one of the best articles in first ten years of publishing the journal. In 2005 she received a research award from the National Institute for Farm Safety for major contributions to the prevention of farm injuries for an article published in Injury Prevention. Her interest in the relationship between suicide risk and pesticides began in 1990 when she reported extremely high suicide rates among farmers in Kentucky.  She has studied neurological and neuropsychological symptoms associated with exposure to pesticides, primarily organophosphate pesticides and links with suicidal ideation and behaviors. She has published articles on the role of mindfulness in promoting well-being among working populations and formerly homeless individuals.  She has published more than 180 peer reviewed papers and co-authored a book on global health in 2013 (White F., Stallones L., Last J. Global public health: Ecological perspectives. Oxford University Press. February, 2013). She served on the National Academy of Sciences Evaluation Committee to review the Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries Research Program of the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (2006-2007). She is a past President of the American College of Epidemiology.  She has been principal investigator on grants totaling more than 11 million dollars from NIH and CDC.  She has served on numerous review panels for CDC/NCIPC and CDC/NIOSH.  She was selected as Professor Laureate in the College of Natural Sciences in 2011 and was awarded the Faculty Excellence in Research from the Colorado School of Public Health the same year.  She received a Faculty Award for contributions to International Education, Colorado State University, in 2009-2010; 2010-2011; 2012-2013; 2013-2014. In 2019, she received the Excellence in Global Health Research award from the Center for Global Health at the Colorado School of Public Health.

Adelyn Moody

Adelyn (Shimizu) Moody, M.S. | Counseling Psychology

Adelyn was raised for most of her childhood outside of Boulder, CO and graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2009 from CU Boulder with Bachelor degrees in Humanities and Psychology. In 2017, she obtained her Master of Science in Psychology at Colorado State University (CSU) and is currently still at CSU as a Ph.D. candidate in the Counseling Psychology Doctoral Program and as a trainee in Occupational Health Psychology. Broadly, she focuses on promoting workplace flourishing and better understanding the barriers to thriving workers may experience in their jobs and careers. Much of her research to date has focused on applied positive psychology in the workplace on topics such as calling, meaningful work, and purpose. In her free time, she enjoys traveling internationally, enjoying the outdoor beauty of the local Rockies, and snuggling with her two dogs.

Kiplin Kaldahl

Kiplin Kaldahl, M.S. | Industrial Organizational Psychology

Kiplin Kaldahl is a third-year graduate student in the Industrial-Organizational Psychology doctoral program at Colorado State University. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in psychology from Eastern Michigan University in the spring of 2018. Her research interests include sleep research, survey design, psychological measurement, interactions within the work and non-work interface, and issues for workers with non-standard arrangements. Her research has been supported by the Mountain and Plains Education and Research Center Pilot Project Awards, Grant T42OH009229.

Madi Besterfield

Madison (Madi) Besterfield |Applied Social and Health Psychology

Madison is a first year student in CSU’s Applied Social and Health Psychology doctoral program. She previously attended Florida International University in Miami, Florida where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Sociology and Anthropology. She is interested in researching the role intersectionality plays in workplace violence, the factors contributing to substance abuse as a coping mechanism for workplace stress, and workplace interventions to reduce work-related substance abuse and workplace violence. In her free time she enjoys reading, taking her dog Bowie for hikes, and exploring Fort Collins little by little. 

Shalyn Stevens

Shalyn Stevens, M.S. | Industrial Organizational Psychology

Shalyn’s research interests within OHP broadly fall within the work-nonwork domain. Her current research investigates social support at work, particularly supervisor support for work and nonwork issues. Last summer she completed an internship in people analytics and hopes to pursue a career in analytics focused on promoting employee health and well-being. In her free time Shalyn enjoys traveling, reading, spending time with her dogs, and skiing. 

Kelly Cave

Kelly is a fifth year graduate student in the Industrial-Organizational Psychology doctoral program at Colorado State University concentrating in Occupational Health Psychology. She graduated from the University of South Florida in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and a minor in general business administration. Her primary research interests include the work-nonwork interface, workplace wellness programs, and organizational culture. After graduating from CSU, she plans to pursue an applied career that is focused on improving employee health and wellbeing. 

Brittany Lynner

Brittany Lynner, M.A. | Industrial Organizational Psychology

Brittany’s research interests include student affairs professionals’ experiences with burnout associated with tele-pressure and intent to leave the field, the intersection between equity and wellness in organizations, and workplace experiences of those in recovery from substance misuse and previously incarcerated individuals. In her spare time, she enjoys biking on the numerous Fort Collins trails, going to drive-in movies, watching sports, traveling, and exploring new places. She obtained her M.A. in Higher Education & Student Affairs from The Ohio State University.

Abby Holm

Abby (she/her/hers) is a fourth year student in the Applied Social and Health Psychology program. Her research interests include health disparities and diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives using intersectional theory. For example, she is currently researching the roles of minority and occupational stress among Teachers of Color in the Colorado K-12 education system in partnership with the Colorado Education Association. In addition to her graduate training, she serves as a board member for the Colorado Evaluation Network (and enjoys incorporating evaluation into her work whenever possible). She has also held contracting/temp positions with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and various lawmakers in CO.

Kelsie Daigle-Colley, M.S. | Industrial Organizational Psychology

Kelsie’s research interests include Occupational Health Psychology, including working parents, parental leave, emotional labor, burnout, alcohol and marijuana use, and recovery behaviors after work. Outside of research, Kelsie enjoys being outdoors, crafting, frequenting patios, and hanging with her dogs.

Jacqueline Wong

Jacqueline’s research interests include the work-nonwork interface, stress, diversity, leadership/supervisor support, and research methods/measurement. She is specifically interested in using interventions involving organizational resources and supervisor support to improve worker health and wellbeing, particularly for marginalized and vulnerable populations. Outside of work, Jacqueline loves live music, theater, good food, hiking, and travel.

Becca Brossoit

Becca is in her 6th year of the I-O PhD program, with a concentration in Occupational Health Psychology. She is also currently a part-time research associate at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). Her research interests include employee sleep, health, and safety, the work-nonwork interface, and the natural and built environment. Outside of work, Becca enjoys live music, hiking, and yoga.

Rebecca (Becca) Clancy

Becca is in her 4th year of the I-O PhD program, with a concentration in Occupational Health Psychology. She graduated from Michigan State University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in Spanish. Her primary research interests include occupational stress, employee well-being, organizational change/development, and organizational culture. Outside of work, Becca enjoys camping, baking, going to concerts, and spending time with her family in Michigan.

Rosalyn Stoa is a first year in the IO Psychology doctoral program. She graduated with double majors in psychology and business administration from the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay, where she was also a member of the swim team and started her own juggling club. Her research interests include occupational stress, motivation, and the study of teaching and learning in undergraduate psychology. In her spare time, she enjoys exploring Fort Collins on bike, hiking, cooking, and throwing pottery.
